The New Items & AVOIDING Scamming

Hey Jammers! It's Colour54 Here!

There's some new items today! One of them is sold in the Horse's Party, an Army Helmet! It sells for 400 gems and is for members only, sadly.

Also, there is a new statue that is found in Sunken Treasures, is member's only, and sells for 500 gems... the Seal Poseidon Statue

Anyway, just a few reminders, because it seems like scamming and hacking is still happening. Some jammers haven't learned there lesson yet. These are some of the most important things to remember.

1. Never make your password have any part of your username in it. Use a mix of lower case and UPPER case letters, and add in some numbers 701851. %*!, and other of those things also help lower the chance greatly of being hacked. If you are very popular or have a lot of rares, put great care into password. (I put care into my password, that's why I've never been hacked).

2. Sayings such as, ''Free Top Hat At My Den!'' is most likely a scam. I usually go to places like that to find out the scammer so I can report them. The most common areas of this saying is 'rare' or more 'popular' servers. When someone tries to scam, they most likely try to lure you to some weird place like Animal Jam's den, but most of the time their den.

3. Never send to trade, unless it's someone you can trust your life with. Send trading is inappropriate and is simply unneeded. Ignore them if they say, ''but my trade is broken'' or ''but I'll give you freedom wings/brown top hat''! The whole thing of scamming is others trying to trick you or lie you into trusting them so they can steal your items.

4. Other scams to avoid to keep in mind:
a. ''I decline all trades'' saying. Most of the time, they're lying. They decline lower rares and wait for you to trade your higher rares so they can accept.
b. ''Flash trading'' is not exactly scamming, but it can be risky. Sometimes your trading system gets glitched up and you can't cancel fast enough, and then they accept in time. Only flash trade if you know for sure this won't happen and your connection is good or if you are really good at accepting other trades in time and know you can earn it back by flash trading more.
c. ''Bat wings scam''. This is when someone asks you to add a good rare onto trade and they say something about playing a game. They flash trade you real bat wings a few times then do member bat wings. When you do this, be very careful and make sure there is no lock or pink tips before you hurry to accept. If your lucky and careful, you won't get scammed and the scammer will have to trick played back at them.

And that's about it! Keep on jamming, jammers, and keep an eye out for those tricky scammers!

  1. Well, take into account that some people use programs to hack, enabling them to get onto your account regaurdless of your password complexity.

But the safest way to prevent hacking is a complex password and to disable your account when you are done playing.

    1. Mhm, yes, true. But mostly only teenagers and younger kids play Animal Jam, so they don't know how to thoroughly hack into your account. And the HQ has a good security system, so it really is quite hard to hack into the files and such. I really don't believe real hackers will even risk being thrown in jail when they can take bigger risks to get money by hacking into other sites.

    2. Tell that to my account which was wiped out in a minute, all 11,000 gems and some-odd items. :'D

I sent in a ticket complaining how they got past me disabling the account. They did not help at all, or talk about how they could get through me locking it. Is it just luck that I never get anything out of the Help Desk?

There are free programs that generate random passwords until it works, some that track what you type, some that take a screenshot of your desktop, etc.

It is rare to come across these things I would think. Especially on a site like AJ.

Plus, it's hard to track them down if they can change their IP adress.

  2. i once met a purrson who kept cackling and saying "the new program i got is working out fine, i'm getting so many gems" i believe she was a lower-class-hacker. its rare to come across some people, but don't just change your password, change your username and remain hidden also. i send emails in to the HQ, but i'm not so sure REAL people are actually answering your calls. the answers sound REALLY REALLY computerized. i once sent in an email talking about scammers, and i also said happy holidays. they answered with: If you meet someone you don't like, just ignore them, or block them. Do you see that red circle with a cancel sign? Well, thats the block button!Isn't that great? (and you get the story)
Also, imposters are everywhere now. I met one who used MY username and copied it to Meowlivez and then started to SCAM people. i am VERY SICK of people like this, especially when i am not famous at all. seriously people? just because i comment on blogs alot? NO. TAKE THIS INTO YOUR HEAD THAT I AM NOT FAMOUS, NOT AT ALL. Seriously? if people copy a non-famous purrson, then bloggers, even minor ones are DEFINITELY being copied. i refuse to be used as a TOOL furr others to scam. SCAMMING IS DISGUSTING. IMAGINE BEATING UP A BABY FOR THE LOLLIPOP ITS HOLDING. WOULD YOU REALLY DO THAT?? sorry about getting emotional. but i DESPISE of scammers when animal jam beta was better than all of animal jam's updates added together ever would be. i'm just not used to quitting furr months at a time and ending up in a new world. this new animal jam is good, but some people disgust me. a lot.

But, i think I just started then.). Then the member suddenly dissapeared, even thought them said that they would give me the Santa hat with the beard(I really wanted one).
